Precision Service & Pumps Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a Pump Technician to join our team based out of Abbotsford, B.C., on a full-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for technical and logistical activities within the shop, ensuring high-quality service delivery according to customer specifications. Reporting to the Shop Leadhand, you will complete repair and maintenance tasks while promoting safety and efficient work practices among shop personnel.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing centrifugal groundwater, wastewater, and process pumps
- Performing overhauls on various pumps, motors, and valves
- Operating lathes and milling machines, including thread-cutting
- Providing strong attention to detail in safety, quality control, and housekeeping
- Organizing tasks and projects under the guidance of the Shop Leadhand
- Collaborating with the Shop Leadhand to maintain equipment and parts inventory
- Managing job setup for accurate and timely work completion
- Accurately documenting work orders and service reports
- Maintaining personal tool inventory as per the required list
- Recommending and implementing productivity and cost-saving initiatives
- Promoting a positive work environment and adherence to safety policies and guidelines
More About You
To qualify, you will need a minimum of 3 years of related mechanical experience. Proficiency in reading and understanding engineered drawings, manuals, and schematics is essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience as a machinist, automotive mechanic, millwright, or welder
- Experience overhauling and repairing rotating equipment, with a preference for centrifugal and turbine pump experience
- Basic First Aid certification
- Ability to organize time and resources in a dynamic work environment
- Capability to perform heavy lifting
